# Topic score (Found)

> How GetIntel scores each buyer topic on its own, what Found means, when a topic counts as found, and why some topics show Collecting data or Needs more prompts.

A [topic's](/features/topics/) score, shown as **Found**, is how often AI names you unprompted on that topic's buyer questions, over a rolling 7 days.

## How it's calculated

Found is [visibility](/docs/academy/metrics/visibility/) limited to one topic: for each of the topic's buyer questions, the share of answers in the last 7 days that named you, averaged across the questions.

## When a topic counts as "found"

Found is judged against your rivals, not a fixed bar. You count as found on a topic when AI names you at least **75% as often as your most-named competitor** there. If no tracked competitor is named on the topic, the bar is **25%**. A score of zero never counts as found.

**Worked example.** On "pricing", AI names Acme in 40% of answers and you in 32%. 32% is 80% of 40%, so you count as **found**. If you were at 28%, that is 70% of Acme's rate: **not found**.

## Why a topic shows no score yet

| Label | Why | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Needs more prompts** | The topic has fewer than 3 buyer questions, too few to score as a subject. | Add prompts to the topic. |
| **Collecting data** | Fewer than 8 answers so far. | Wait for the next daily scans. |

## Found versus the neighbouring metrics

- **Found and [win rate](/docs/academy/metrics/win-rate/)** together decide the topic's **Status**.
- **Home's visibility** covers all topics for the period you pick; Found is one topic over a fixed 7 days. See [Why numbers differ](/docs/academy/metrics/why-numbers-differ/).

## Where to find it

- **Topics**: the **Found**, **Trend** and **Change** columns.
- **A topic's Dashboard tab**: **Found unprompted**, with its history.
- **MCP**: `get_topics` and `get_topic`.

## What moves it

Open the topic and check its **Content** tab: it shows the facts AI compares for the topic and what the pages it cites have in common. The topic's **To do** tab lists the tasks most likely to move it.
