# How tasks are prioritized

GetIntel ranks tasks by how much they are likely to move your AI visibility for the effort they take. Every task list is sorted best first.

## From findings to tasks

After each scoring run, GetIntel collects everything worth fixing: pages to write or refresh, lists and reviews that don't mention you, [Reddit and video opportunities](/features/signals/), and technical problems. Similar findings merge into one task, so dozens of findings on a 10-topic brand usually become 20 to 30 tasks. A task that helps several topics becomes one task with a higher rank, not several.

## How a task is ranked

Four things decide a task's score:

| Factor | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| **Reach** | How many AI answers and buyer questions the task touches. |
| **Topics helped** | How many of your topics it moves. More topics rank higher, with diminishing returns. |
| **Fit** | Whether this lever is the topic's actual bottleneck. Writing a page helps most where you have no page; outreach helps most where AI relies on third-party sources. |
| **Effort** | The estimated time to do it. More effort lowers the score. |

Roughly: **score = evidence × topic boost × fit ÷ effort**, where evidence grows with reach and topic boost grows with the number of topics helped.

## When a task appears

A task shows up once it is **confirmed**: found on at least 2 separate days, or backed by at least 3 answers. This keeps one unusual answer from filling your list.

## When a task disappears

- **Detected as done**: GetIntel no longer finds the problem on a new scan, so the task resolves itself.
- **Done**: you marked it done.
- **Not relevant**: you dismissed it.
- **Snoozed**: hidden for 2 weeks.

## Why the order changes

Rankings are rebuilt after every daily scan. A task climbs when it starts touching more answers or more topics, and drops when its evidence fades.
