# Google Search Console

> Connect Google Search Console so GetIntel can put your Google rankings next to your AI citations and find pages that rank but that AI never cites.

Ranking on Google and being cited by AI are related but different. With Search Console connected, GetIntel lines the two up, so you can see which of your pages already rank well but still get skipped in [AI answers](/features/ai-answers/).

## Connect

<Steps>

1. In GetIntel, open **Integrations** and click **Connect Google Search Console**.
2. Sign in with the Google account that has access to your site in Search Console, and allow read-only access.
3. **Select your site** from the properties that account can see.

</Steps>

<Aside type="caution">
If no sites appear, that Google account has no verified properties. Sign in with the account that owns or has been added to your site in Search Console.
</Aside>

## Where it shows up

- **MCP.** The [`get_search_console`](/docs/mcp/tools/#site-and-traffic) tool returns clicks, impressions and average position joined to your tracked buyer questions, plus `ranks_but_never_cited`: pages or queries in Google's top 10 that AI cited zero times. Ask your agent "Which of our pages rank on Google but AI never cites?"
- **Technical.** The weekly [technical scan](/docs/features/technical/) uses it to check whether your key pages are indexed in Google.

<Aside>
When a result has nothing to compare, `cited_by_ai` comes back empty rather than `false`, so a missing value never reads as "AI ignores this page".
</Aside>

## Disconnect

Open Search Console in **Integrations** and disconnect, or remove GetIntel's access from your Google account permissions.
