Google AI Overviews is the surface where you are most likely to be losing to a named competitor, not to an empty answer. Across 60 tracked buyer questions on 17 September 2026, AI Overviews named a rival instead of GetIntel on 45 of them, or 75%. Perplexity, on the same questions, named no product at all 71.7% of the time. Same prompt set, opposite problem, and it changes which tool is worth paying for.
Disclosure: GetIntel sells an AI visibility tool and ranks itself first in this list, which is what 16 of 17 vendor roundups do. Read the order as a vendor's order. Competitor facts are read from each vendor's own pages on the dates stated, and anything we could not verify first-hand is marked rather than filled in.
Why is AI Overviews harder to track than the chat engines?
Because Google publishes no API for it. There is no endpoint that returns the AI Overview for a query, which means every tool in this list obtains it the same way: by requesting the results page and reading what rendered. LLM Pulse describes its own pipeline as "millions of AI answers scraped weekly."
That has three consequences a buyer should price in. Coverage is a claim rather than a contract, because a scraper can be blocked or throttled. Results vary by location and device, since AI Overviews does. And the surface itself is not guaranteed to appear at all.
That last point is measurable. Across our 60 tracked questions, AI Overviews was the only engine that returned nothing readable on any question: one of the 60 rendered no AI Overview whatsoever. Our earlier reading of the same prompt set put the appearance rate at roughly 98% in this category. High, but not the 100% a dashboard implies when it shows a flat zero.
| Engine | Named a competitor instead of GetIntel | Named no product at all | Named GetIntel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AI Overviews | 75.0% (45) | 15.0% (9) | 8.3% (5) |
| Gemini | 95.0% (57) | 5.0% (3) | 0.0% (0) |
| ChatGPT | 60.0% (36) | 28.3% (17) | 11.7% (7) |
| Perplexity | 10.0% (6) | 71.7% (43) | 18.3% (11) |
The Google AI Overviews row covers 59 of 60 because of the question that rendered nothing, so it sums to 98.3%. Raw rows ship as CSV and JSON.
Which tools actually track Google AI Overviews, and at what price?
Eight tools track Google AI Overviews, from GetIntel and Otterly.AI at $29 a month up to Scrunch AI at $250, with Profound no longer selling a self-serve tier at all. They are ranked here by how much AI Overviews coverage the entry price buys, since that is the decision most buyers are actually making.
| Tool | Entry price | Is AI Overviews included at entry? |
|---|---|---|
| GetIntel | $29/mo | Yes, daily on every paid plan |
| Otterly.AI | $29/mo | Yes, in a fixed set of four, no per-engine upsell |
| LLM Pulse | €49/mo | Yes, one of five models on Starter |
| Dageno | $79/mo | Yes, but tiers dated August 2026 and not re-confirmed |
| Peec AI | $95/mo | Only if you spend one of your three choices on it |
| SE Ranking | $129/mo | Yes, bundled into the SEO platform, 100 prompts on Core |
| Scrunch AI | $250/mo | Yes, one of four LLMs on Core |
| Profound | No self-serve price | No self-serve route at all since September 2026 |
The third column is the decision, not the price. Peec AI is the only tool here where reaching AI Overviews costs you a choice, because its plans include three models drawn from a pool of six rather than a fixed set.
1. GetIntel, from $29 a month
GetIntel tracks Google AI Overviews daily on every paid plan, alongside ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, with Claude weekly on the $149 Growth tier. The AI Overviews tracker page now runs a live check on the page itself, with no signup. Monitor is $29 for 25 buyer questions, Pro $79 for 60, Growth $149 for 120. Answers are captured from the live interface in logged-out sessions rather than through an API, which for AI Overviews is not a preference but the only option available to anyone. The difference from most of this list is what follows the measurement: each gap becomes a ranked task, and the fix ships through Claude Code or Cursor over MCP into your own repository with your approval. Choose something else if you want a mature enterprise reporting suite, since this is a young product whose proof is a public dogfooding page rather than a client logo wall.
2. Otterly.AI, from $29 a month
Otterly.AI includes Google AI Overviews on every tier with no per-engine upsell, in a fixed set of four: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Lite is $29 for 15 prompts and one workspace, Standard $189 for 100 prompts with unlimited workspaces, Premium $489 for 400, and Enterprise from $1,000. Extra prompts are $99 per 100. Read 22 August 2026 and re-checked 17 September 2026. The caveat worth pricing in: Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are charged as extras on every tier, so the four above are what the headline price buys. Standard is also where the API, MCP access, Agent Analytics and the Looker Studio connector start, which matters if AI Overviews data has to reach a client report rather than a dashboard. Choose Otterly when you want the clearest published prompt ladder in the category and do not need the fix drafted for you.
3. LLM Pulse, from 49 euros a month
LLM Pulse includes Google AI Overviews in the Starter plan's five models, alongside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Mode, which makes it the widest engine coverage at an entry price in this list. Its own material describes the collection method plainly as scraping millions of AI answers weekly. The counting rule matters as much as the engine list: a prompt counts once against your plan no matter how many models it runs against, so 50 tracked prompts on Starter means 50 questions across all five surfaces rather than 50 divided between them. It is also the only competitor here that states white-label reporting on its own pricing page, gated to Enterprise, with client-facing branding down to a custom subdomain. Choose LLM Pulse when you want Google AI Mode and AI Overviews tracked as separate surfaces at the cheapest entry point available.
4. Dageno, from $79 a month
Dageno covers AI Overviews alongside Gemini, ChatGPT and Perplexity. Its visibility tiers were $79, $199 and $499 when we read them in August 2026, and we have not re-confirmed them since, so treat those as dated. Pricing needs care here more than anywhere else in this list: dageno.ai/pricing as captured on 15 September 2026 is headed "Market Intelligence Plans" and shows different figures for what is a separate product line. Confirm which product a quote refers to before comparing it, and ask which of the two the AI Overviews coverage sits in. That Market Intelligence line runs $49 (reduced from $89), $199 and $410 on the page we captured, none of which are the visibility figures above. Choose Dageno when you want to look at real category data before committing a budget, because its research access is genuinely ungated, which nothing else here offers.
5. Peec AI, from $95 a month
Peec AI carries Google AI Overviews, but as one option in a pool of six rather than as an included surface. Each plan covers three models chosen from ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity and Gemini, so tracking AI Overviews means spending one of your three slots on it, and a fourth model is an add-on at $30, $70 or $140 a month by tier. Brand plans are $95, $245 and $495, read live from peec.ai/pricing on 17 September 2026 rather than from our site capture, because Peec renders its prices in JavaScript. Peec also runs free 7-day pitch projects, so an agency can check a prospect's AI Overviews position without paying upfront. Otterly offers a comparable pitch workspace, though behind an existing paid tier rather than free-standing. Choose Peec when you want unlimited seats and strong reporting and are comfortable choosing three surfaces.
6. SE Ranking, from $129 a month
SE Ranking does not sell AI visibility as its own product. AI prompt tracking is bundled into the full SEO platform: Core at $129 a month includes 100 AI prompts tracked daily, Growth at $279 includes 250, and there is a separate AI Search add-on at $89 a month layered on either plan. Read from seranking.com on 26 August 2026 and re-verified 17 September 2026. The page does not clearly state whether the add-on's prompts replace, stack with or extend the bundled allowance, which is the first thing to ask on a call, because the answer changes the effective per-prompt cost by more than the headline difference between the two tiers. Annual billing brings those to $103.20, $223.20 and $71.20 respectively. Choose SE Ranking when you already want the rank tracking, backlinks and site audit, and the AI prompts are a bonus rather than the reason.
7. Scrunch AI, $250 a month
Scrunch AI's Core tier is $250 a month for 125 prompts, five site audits, five licences and four LLMs against one brand workspace, with Enterprise above it reaching nine. Its pricing page names the four outright, and Google AI Overviews is one of them, alongside ChatGPT, Perplexity and Copilot. Enterprise adds Claude, Gemini, Meta AI, Google AI Mode and Grok. There is no tier under $250, and one brand workspace is a single-client shape. There is a 7-day free trial of Core, stated in their FAQ rather than on the pricing page, and Enterprise is where the other five LLMs, the API, MCP, CLI and full SSO live. Choose Scrunch when you are already operating at enterprise scale, which is who the product is built for and what its $250 floor selects for before any feature comparison begins.
8. Profound, no self-serve tier
Profound published $99 and $399 self-serve tiers earlier in 2026 and has withdrawn both. As of 17 September 2026 its pricing page shows a free trial and a custom Enterprise plan only, so there is no self-serve way to start tracking AI Overviews with it. The trial runs 10 prompts once against ChatGPT alone, which by construction will tell you nothing at all about AI Overviews, so it cannot be used to evaluate the thing this article is about. Enterprise reaches up to nine answer engines with SSO, SAML and SOC 2, genuinely broader coverage than anything else here. The wider shift matters more than the price: Profound's homepage now sells an AI marketing platform and an AI Marketer agent rather than a visibility tracker, so an agency evaluating it is buying a broader product than this list compares. Detail in Profound pricing 2026.
What should you check before buying an AI Overviews tracker?
Two of the questions worth asking exist only because there is no API. The first is how the tool obtains AI Overviews and from where, since location is a first-class input to Google's results and a scraper running from one region reports that region. The second is what the tool does when no AI Overview renders at all: one that reports "not visible" for a query where the feature never appeared is telling you something false, and that case was 1 in 60 on our own set.
The other two are commercial. Check whether AI Overviews is included or costs a model slot, because two tools here include it at $29 while one makes it compete for one of three. And check the refresh cadence against your prompt count, since daily on 25 questions and weekly on 250 are different products that a headline engine count hides entirely.
How this list was built
The AI Overviews engine coverage table above is GetIntel's own tracked buyer-question set, read from our product on 17 September 2026 over a trailing 7-day window, with the per-question rows published so the percentages can be recomputed. It is one category and one brand's prompt set, so treat it as a strong signal about this market rather than a general claim about Google.
Competitor facts were read from each vendor's own pages on the dates stated, using local site captures taken 15 September 2026 and live reads where a figure was load-bearing. One thing is explicitly not first-party and is marked in place: Dageno's current visibility-tier prices. An earlier draft also listed Scrunch's four-LLM composition here. That was wrong. Their pricing page names all four outright, and our search missed it because the model names render run together without separators, which is a good argument for reading a page rather than grepping it.
One limit worth stating rather than burying. Our per-engine sampling is uneven: AI Overviews and Gemini run about seven checks per question against roughly two for Perplexity, so the cross-engine table above is a fair comparison of dominant states but not of per-question precision.
If you want the opposite side of this picture, Perplexity leaves the field open on most buyer questions and needs a different response entirely. For the mechanics of getting into an AI Overview once you know you are missing from it, how to rank in Google AI Overviews works the same 60-prompt dataset.
