Visibility
How GetIntel's visibility score is calculated from answer states, with a worked example, how it differs from share of voice and position, and what moves it.
Visibility is how often AI names you when buyers ask your questions: the share of answers where you are recommended or mentioned, averaged across your buyer questions.
How it’s calculated
Section titled “How it’s calculated”- For each buyer question, GetIntel takes the answers in the window and works out the share that named you (recommended or mentioned).
- It averages those shares across questions.
Averaging per question means a question asked many times, on many engines, doesn’t outweigh the rest. Answers marked No answer are left out.
Worked example. Three questions in a window:

Visibility = (50% + 25% + 75%) ÷ 3 = 50%.
Visibility versus the neighbouring metrics
Section titled “Visibility versus the neighbouring metrics”- Share of voice asks how much of the conversation is about you compared with rivals. You can have high visibility and a modest share of voice if many brands are named alongside you.
- Position asks where you appear when you are named. Visibility only asks whether you are named.
- Topic score (Found) is visibility for one topic’s questions over a rolling 7 days.

What moves it
Section titled “What moves it”Visibility rises when more answers name you. The biggest levers are being cited by the sources AI already trusts for your questions, having a clear page that answers each question directly, and fixing anything that stops engines reading your site.
