My page isn't cited
Why AI engines might not cite a page on your site, how to check each cause in GetIntel, and what usually fixes it.
You have a page that answers a buyer question, but AI doesn’t cite it. Check these causes in order.
1. Engines can’t read it
Section titled “1. Engines can’t read it”How to check: Technical → Pages. Find the page and look for fails on any engine. Click it to compare what a browser sees with the raw HTML a bot gets.
Fix: content that only appears after JavaScript runs is invisible to ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude. Render the key content in the page’s HTML.
2. It isn’t indexed or discoverable

Fix: add it to your sitemap, link to it from related pages, and make sure it isn’t marked noindex.
3. It doesn’t answer the way AI compares
Section titled “3. It doesn’t answer the way AI compares”How to check: open the topic the page serves and its Content tab. Compare the facts AI weighs for that topic with what your page says.
Fix: cover the missing facts plainly, ideally near the top. The matching On-Page task under Actions lists them.
4. AI prefers another source for this question
Section titled “4. AI prefers another source for this question”How to check: in Your pages, click the page and look at What AI cites most for its topic.
Fix: some questions are answered mostly from review sites, lists or Reddit. There, getting mentioned on those sources matters more than your own page. Work the Off-Page and UGC tasks for that topic.
5. It’s too new
Section titled “5. It’s too new”Engines need time to find and trust a new or changed page. Give it a few weeks to a month, and make sure it is linked from pages that already get traffic.
